Global warming results in sea level rising. If sea levels are higher, then there is more water, so more people are affected by storm surges. Is this what you are looking for?

Hurricanes, cyclones whatever you call them.
-They all need average sea temperatures of 27 degrees. Global warming is predicted to cause rising temperatures on the sea.
- also Hurricanes need to be in areas of low pressure, More sun means more evaporation, so less air pressure.

There's also the fact warming could increase the frequency of El Niño events, which could bring hurricanes to less prepared areas. This more vulnerable population may elevate more hazard events to disaster status
