LPCs and Training Contracts

Hello all,

I understand that you apply for training contracts in the second year of the Law degree. Presuming that LPC costs are paid via this TC, if you are accepted, will the company then pay for your LPC before you do the training contract or do you have to pay upfront and hope that this is refunded to you when you start the TC?

Thanks for your help.

They'll pau upfront, usually as part of a sweetheart deal with either CoL or BPP.

There is usually a clause that they'll want refunding if you don't pass the LPC, complete your TC or sometimes even leave at NQ when they offered a job.

If you acquire a training contract with a firm who offer to pay your fees, they will pay your fees when you start your LPC, without you having to pay up front. But if you fail your LPC you will have to pay the firm back. Also you can apply for training contracts whenever you want, not just 2nd year.
