Master's degree after Bachelor's

Hi,
If you go to a bad university for your Bachelor's degree, and go to a top university for your master's/phd. Will it matter where you got your Bachelor's from when applying for a job?

That depends if the employer is even too concerned about where you got the degree. Plenty may only consider your final grade and not give much regard to where you got it. Experience and other factors will also come into play.

It is also entirely possible that they put the most amount of focus onto your most recent qualifications. Selective hiring does occur, so topping up at a more "elite" university may help your prospects. Ultimately they'll be hiring a person, so you need to still be the right candidate regardless.

Do the Masters because you enjoy it, not just a means to an end. With a few years of experience, a company would no doubt rather hire a qualified and successful person with years of experience over a fresh graduate from a top uni. You can work in second or third best company and make a full career plan out of working up to the top from there.
