Here's an example I found on the maths society website:

0.0949 is small, so 0.0949 squared is very small. Maths/Physics people: 0.0949 squared equals zero. :biggrin:

Ahhh, I thought it was quite an interesting premise but didn't want to restrict myself too much! I've applied for Compsci at Cambridge, Imperial, Warwick, Durham and Nottingham.

I hope you don't mean you applied for both the Maths and the Maths+Stats course... They're both processed by the same department so you have exactly the same chance of getting in whether you apply for one or both. Also, you can swap easily between them up until your third year I think, providing you've taken optional stats modules up to that point.

Basically you've wasted a choice.

This is a very late reply but Maths and Maths+Stats are not run / processed by the same department and swapping between them is not that easy. At least from MathStat to straight maths.
MORSE - MathStat transfer is , however, way simpler.
