Sorry to hear you didn't get your first choice, which was your first choice? Also, do you know the moving in date for sentinel? I really hope there is, I have this fear that I'll lonely pre-drinks in my room and nobody in my flat will want to go out lol :frown:. It is what you make of it though, and as there's a common room I'm sure the outgoing people will meet each other. What course have you applied for?

I applied for henry price for the whole atmosphere thing. But you're right, it is what you make of it and I'm going with an open mind haha. Ehh 17th sept onwards  ahh you won't don't worry. Definitely, the common room will be good for meeting other people. I'm studying dentistry wbu??

Did you view Henry Price on the accommodation open day? I haven't actually viewed Sentinel, I hope its ok. Yes, I will be SO nervous the first time I walk into the common room though! It will soon feel like home though . Very nice, I'm studying Arabic and middle eastern studies. On the plus side, Sentinel is supposed to be very close to the school of dentistry

Has anybody applied to Sentinel? It is my first choice accommodation but it seems nobody has applied and I'm worried there won't be an atmosphere :frown: I'm very outgoing and enjoy socialising. Please tell me I won't be alone at Sentinel!

I'm going to be living in Sentinel, I originally applied for James Bailie but I'm quite glad I got Sentinel cause it's so close to the city! On the plus side if myself and others have been put there when we didn't apply I'm sure there will be a mixed bunch and there will be an atmosphere. Hope so anyway, Looking forward to it!
TBH I don't think it matters where you're put, there's gonna be an atmosphere and social people everywhere. Plus many people allocated in Sentinel and The Tannery most likely applied for Charles Morris or Henry Price as well. Even though you did not get your first choice, it does not mean you will be stuck with anti-social people. Chances are your flatmates or floormates requested the same accommodation as you or are similar people. I would like to think the accom office would try to place you with similar type of people so don't worry I'm sure everyone will be just fine.

Guys i am in the tannery and im paranoid im the only one not doing nursing.. if you want to add me on fb or stn to keep in touch you can. You can come over but theres nothing to say my situation will be any better... quiet people will habe opted for a quiet flat so you must be with people with an element of wantinf to go out! Im sure it will work itself out for you

Relax, I'm sure we will all be fine in the accommodation we were put into. You're right, they try to group similar people together. I've seen on fb people doing accounting in the tannery this year as well as other courses. It's not all nursing  you're doing medicine yeah? There will be other medics there, its close to the hospital.

Hey  where abouts are you in sentinel? I'm in A4.11 I'm so looking forward to moving to Leeds now, it's getting so real. I hope you're right about the atmosphere, I'm sure it is what you make of it. Sentinel does look very nice, bigger rooms than most, ensuite, bbq area now (i thinkkkk). I'm quite excited .
How is it that some people have already got their accommodation confirmed? I thought it doesn't get confirmed till after results day, sometime in September ??

People with unconditional offers will have their accommodation confirmed throughout this month and into August I think.

Hey, I'm in B9.42... yeah it looks nice, clean , modern,I'm just happy I got ensuite haha  I'm really looking forward to it too! What subject/s are you doing?
Anyone know when the moving in date is, I know it might be different for each accommodation but just a general idea (I need to hand my notice in to work soon!). Also when is freshers week for Leeds, and is it one or two weeks, since some uni's it lasts longer?

Thanks

Between 13th and 20th September, depedning on your accommodation. Freshers (or 'intro week activities' as the accommodation puts it!) looks like a week, from 22nd - 26th September, and then teaching starts on the 29th. (Though I'm under the impression that Freshers basically lasts for all of Year 1... don't quote me on that though...)

More here.

It does! The rooms also look a bit bigger than in other accommodations and the plus is the ensuite. I wasn't even that bothered about ensuite when I applied, good to have it though . I'm going to study Dentistry, and I've heard it's quite close to the dental school and close to town (i haven't visited it though) so that's a bonus. What are you studying?
Anyone doing chemical engineering???

Yes I've heard its near the dental school, I'm doing Classics, it's not really near my building but I don't think it'll be too far of a walk for me!

"Intro week activities" AKA Freshers week here at the union starts with our "road to Leeds" arrival party on the 20th of September. However we do have events on before and after this all the way into mid October!

The best place to keep up to date when you get your results will be the mailout package you get from the union and our "road to leeds" website at www.roadtoleeds.com (which will go live closer to results day). This site will be packed with all the information you need!

Things to look out for are the dates you can arrive at accommodation, the freshers fairs, events at the union and then any introductory lectures you might have before the 29th. Everything the first few weeks tends to gradually switch you into the University style!

I personally wouldn't miss the Arrival Party, Fruity, Zane Lowe, Ella Eyre, The School Disco and Varsity! - You can follow union events at https://www.facebook.com/LUUevents and the Union facebook at https://www.facebook.com/leedsuniversityunion to keep up to date.

Whens Zane Lowe!? all sounds amazing! x
Anyone who applied for UG scholarships heard anything back? :I
This is ridiculous, almost 3 weeks late on contacting us. They sent an email saying we should hear back in the week commencing 21st of July and still nothing.

I don't know anything about scholarships but they might need your results before they offer you one if you are an a level candidate? And the 21st of July might have applied to those who got their results earlier like btec and international students?
