Gift year question

Hello! I've just got a small question to ask about gift years and funding.

I previously studied for 1 year (of a 3 year course) and decided it was not the right one for me. So I then transferred to a 4 year course. I assumed that I would be eligible for funding for the entire 4 years (due to duration of course + 1 gift year)

Therefore 4 (of current course) + gift year - 1st year of degree = 4 years funding (is how I think it works out?)

I have just now been told that I am not eligible for funding for the 1st year of that 4 year course.

Is this correct? Thanks!
If your circumstances are exactly as you state no it isn't. You should be entitled to the full course.

Did you drop out after year 1?
Even if you did a day of year 2 it counts as a full year.

I never enrolled in year 2 of the 1st course. I did exactly 1 year of the 3 (in the first course) as i left in the summer. I then enrolled on a new 4 year course afterwards (and entering the 4th and final).

So it does mean that I am entitled to full funding for the 5 years?

Cheers!
