Physics at Lancaster

I missed the open days so I booked to go and see the uni and department yesterday. I loved the campus, the professor and PhD student that showed me around were great and they had some pretty cool stuff going on. My only concern is that I felt like the department was mainly geared towards post grads and it felt a little outdated even though the research was ahead of the field.

Did anyone else feel this? I'm just hoping it was because some areas were shut and it didn't have the 'open day' vibe. I've heard Lancaster is one of the best Unis for Physics so I don't want to dismiss it. Anyone else just feel 'off'?

Lancaster is a research university so there's quite a few facilities you'll never see unless you actually... research.

I wouldn't worry too much though, there's lots of good stuff here and it's not like you're ignored in favour of other work.
