Medicine or Math?

Which course should I read in University? Which one would provide me with better life and job prospects in the future? Which is more beneficial?

I can't decide myself.. What do you think?

You shouldn't do either of these courses just for better job prospects. You really need to be passionate about both of these if you want to do well on them.

I'm more passionate about Math than medicine.. I really love math!
I'm only considering medicine due to my mother's wishes, I don't mind science though:smile:

Then do Maths (please call it maths :giggle: ). There's no point do what your parents want, you should do what you want. Also Maths is a highly sought after degree as well so
employment isn't really a problem

You won't last long in Medicine if that's the case.
Do maths.

Haha its fine  you'll get used to it eventually
That's the oldest view in the book! Mathematics has so many applications in a broad range of fields a few notable examples include:
Physics, Finance, Banking, Statistics, Psychology, communications, security, internet etc...

Not just teaching, most mathematicians actually end up going into a different career to teaching.

There's a difference between putting your mind to something, and putting your heart to something. Medicine is a field that is filled with copious amounts of frustration with relatively little reward until later in your career, and unless you have the resolve to see that through, you won't make it.

Trust me, I'm talking from experience.
Why would you want to be a doctor? (Not sarcastic or anything, just a genuine question)

Then Mathematics is for you, these occupations tend to look for Mathematicians, especially when it comes to Investment Banking

I'm not sure if I even what to be a doctor, I'm not entirely sure what I want to be.. I can't see myself in a certain career just yet.

I'm considering studying it because my mom asked me to think about it x

Definitely go for maths then. If you're not passionate about medicine, then you probably won't be motivated enough to do all the volunteering etc. that you have to do and you won't do as well at the interviews.

You really need to want to be a doc to do medicine. Once you've done maths you can do another degree of something in a more specialised field

I totally agree with your last statement!
My mom works in a care home so she's already said that I could do volunteering there x
