Order of universities UCAS

I'm just looking at the 'Track' page on UCAS. I'm just wondering why the system has to randomise the order of the universities on the page, instead of just displaying them alphabetically like before?
Would it randomise them again if I filled my 5th choice, or just randomise the spot of the 5th choice? Or would it just slot in at the bottom?

It really doesn't matter - unis can't see where else you're applying to anyway.
