Are Queen Mary's and City university in 'run-down' locations?

Any experiences? I am yet to visit but have heard things

I dont actually study here, my brother does. Yeah its a part of the Russell group but unfortunately there isnt enough land within london for them to pick and choose a location.
There is also a Whitechapel campus which i havent been to so cant tell you about it.

The uni itself looks decent, the area around it, not so much.

I've heard from friends that are from London that QMUL is surrounded by a 'bad' area.

Like Nottingham the surrounding area is disgusting but on campus it's good

city however has no campus
City is in Islington, it's not the best of areas but as long as you stay around the campus and don't wonder about the borough during midnight, you'll be fine.

Queen Mary is in mile end, stay away from surrounding areas like bow and devons and you'll be fine.

City has multiple campuses as far as I'm aware.

QMUL has 3 campuses I believe............One at whitechapel only for medics/dentists............another one somewhere in central for research and for all other courses and undergraduates and others at Mile end Campus.

Its pretty nice in my opinion, especially the accommodation side of it with the canal and grass, etc

All of City's campuses are situated right next to each other
I actually live fairly close to QMUL, it's not that bad, I have visited many times for school trips, and the area is good as all the food is generally cheaper then Central London, also there are quite nice parks, and many amenities.
Its so frustrating how i want to study psychology in London but ucl is the only one thats decent and in a nice area :frown: :frown:
