GEP Medicine

Hi guys

I'm thinking of applying for GEP Medicine and I had a quick question. What kind of extra curricular activities do universities like to see (if any)?

Thanks!

I think universities highly value long term volunteer work in any sort of setting where you're dealing with people, from working in a charity shop to helping out in a nursing home. So if you haven't got any already, I'd try and get started on that.

Extra curriculars are only there to show how you are as a person, theres no requirement, and I would say only do them if you actually enjoy them! There's no point playing badminton 5 hours a week if you hate it just to write it on your UCAS. Of course the key thing is to talk about the skills you gain from doing these things so it really doesn't matter what you do, as long as you can relate it back to how the skills are relevant for medicine etc.
