This game is broken, Chelsea have been relegated
Now if only that could happen in real life
I really love how people go on (seriously, not as a joke) about how the game is broken just because one team is doing really well or really badly. Look at Leeds United's fall from grace - they went from being in the Champions League to being in League One with points deducted for going into administration in a matter of seasons; it happens. Why can't people accept that?

Re: Football Manager SocietyIve had a few things like that with Terry and others. but its all good. first game i beat Ghana 2-0, Japan and Italy left in my group.. heres a strange one. Macedonia are ranked no10 in the world. and are in the world cup!(Original post by .Andrew.)
We can only wish
They sold all their players, and got relegated.. So damn good. -
Re: Football Manager Society
lol thats class.
I got sacked as England manager. Ive took over Newcastle now. I got offered the job, Newcastle got relegated the same time i got relegated with them in the last game lol.. Theyve got a class squad but they sold Owen and Martins in previous seasons and never replaced them, i need a decent striker who will get goals in the championship.. any ideas? -
Re: Football Manager SocietyRey Volpato, Okaka (on loan probably), Balotelli, Billy sharp if he isn't already gone. Lulinha maybe, Giovinco. If you look in Italy at mid table teams with relatively low rep you could probably pick up a decent striker. Romania is another good place to look, CSKA also has a polish striker who's name slips my mind that would be good in the championship.(Original post by Vintage)

Re: Football Manager SocietyOn my game (where I've now moved to Arsenal and am selling off all their non-British players), Giovinco is probably the best midfielder in the world. His potential is probably random (though I can't check as I don't have the game here), but it will be high, and I'd say he is almost certasinly out of reach of any Championship club. I wouldn't have thought that Juve would want to loan him out after the first season either.(Original post by decola)

Re: Football Manager SocietyThat'd be a rather expensive way of doing it, though. While the players would be proven to score goals in the Championship, they're presumably doing well at their clubs so the club (and quite likely the player as well) would be reluctant to accept a transfer offer unless you paid a boatload for them.(Original post by .Andrew.)
Just check the 'player stats' on the CH league stats board.
Make a bid for 2 of the highest scoring ST's and bob's your uncle.. (that's if they want to move).
Or go to Norwich City, and make a bid for Darren Huckerby, he smashes a few goals home every season in the CH.
Premiership reserves (check stats for groups 1 and 2 in the reserves leagues), or slightly "worse" performers in the Premiership sides might be a better option if you're on a budget.
Unfortunately I can't name-tip from my game because I'm playing without real players (such is the nature of my hunt for a challenge - I'm not likely to buy a player based on their name alone if I don't recognise their name
), however just to show what I mean:
My Workington game is now about 3/4 of the way through the season. The top ten goalscorers in the Championship have scored anywhere between 15 and 22 goals, but are valued at between £1.6m and £3m (most of them around £2.2m and £2.5m).
The top goalscorer in Reserves Group 1 is valued at £1.1m, and two of the top five are valued at under £500k (including one from Chelsea
)
Taking a peek at Man City, who are currently 11th in the Premiership...they've got two players who are performing reasonably well but have low club valuations: one's played 9 games and scored 4, and looks to be a pretty solid target man to hit crosses into (read: Man City's Peter Crouch equivalent
) and is valued at £1.4m. The other's played 7 (3 of which are from the bench) and has scored 2. Nothing bad at all with his attacking stats (his tackling and marking are low, but he's a striker, not a defender
) and he's valued at just £1.5mill
While City would definitely say no to any offers coming in for their top three forwards (who've scored 11, 9 and 8 goals respectively), the two I've picked out may be deemed as surplus to requirements and might be available relatively cheaply
