My best ever tactic/formation was on 00/01.

-------------Buffon

-------Neville-Stam-Samuel

Becks---Scholes---Keane---Giggs

--------------Aimar

-------Saviola-----Ronaldinho

Absolutely unbelievable. Aimar would get about a thousand assists a season. And the front two would get a goal or to every game. Legendary.

whos up for starting off an online game then? we can be any teams... i prefer premiership (online) just after a couple of years the good managers are challenging.. it makes good entertainment.i lost out to my mate on goal difference

Just gained Promotion To the Conference With Northwich Victoria. went through the whole season unbeaten in the league.. who can say that?

I can't, but I always pick a team that starts off as a relegation candidate...and with Weymouth in the Conference South it's almost impossible to go through the season unbeaten (I've only ONCE managed to get a draw with Weymouth, and that was thanks to an own goal from their goalie)

However, in FM2005 I had a fantastic run when I played the Northern Irish league. I took First Division team Ballyclare (taken just because they had no competition honours to their name, so anything that turned up on that page would have been earned by me). They were expected to be in the bottom half of the division, but I went on a winning streak that lasted over a year. No team in Northern Ireland, first division or premier division, was capable of beating me. My first loss in that game came from the Champions League in the second season

You guys wanna make sure you pick one game and stick with it, it's a much better way of playingh the game than to start new games.

Anyway, I'm currently at Celtic in 2015/16, after spending most yeatrs at Southampton. I took the Celtic job since there were no L1 jobs about, which is where I want to go at the moment... but I've ended up fixing together a nice little team full of young british talent.

Yup, I'd generally agree with that...but there comes a point where you've sometimes just got to admit that it's time to throw in the towel. I knew someone who played a game with one team until they were destined to be relegated, and he was fired from that job. He got another job, got relegated with that team and was fired again. In total he took four jobs, got relegated or was nearing relegation with all of them, and got fired by all of them because he was awful If I were him, I'd have started up a new game instead of applying for more jobs

And the two of you have now been added to the soc

efcom i agree. but my long game as Newcastle manager (newcastle fan) i was into 2015 but my computer bust so i lost it all

ive started a few online games.. they are much better... but our recent one has stopped, there was 4 of us. but ones internet bust, one had to go away for a couple of months. and its boring with just 2.

Anyone want to start a game up? its fun

My northwich game is bust.. it keeps crashing fm when i get to last game of season

I kinda got sick after playing a few odd games with teams and as a joke I wanted to see how the computer would do with the 200 million I gave to Reading. I mean come on, they're supposed to be owned by a millionaire aren't they? Who do they buy first? Rohan Ricketts.... I kinda got fed up and took them along for a month buying a few quality players: Giovanny Hernandez, Gioda e.t.c....

Meanwhile I've just been playing with Villareal and found an absolutly amazing formation

DC--------DC
WBR----DMC----WBL
---------MC--------
AMR-------------AML
FC FC

Both the DC and DMC have arrows back, whilst the midfield centre has an arrow towards the AMC position. This formation's class, the only problem is that you have to have players with a very high stamina for wing backs and attacking midfielder. Won the league with Villareal when I did this the first time as well as the Spanish cup. Milan knocked me out of the semis of the ECC though.

In a few seasons i'm going to try and do the formation with these players as my dream team...some might be around 30 though, and Sorin I know will be very old, but meh..

Ochoa
Pablo Gonzalo
Blaszkykowski Pirlo Sorin
Riquelme/Diego (Porto)
Rosicky Podolski
Torres Forlan

Podolski is just incredible on the left once you convert him and if none of you have ever seen Blaszkykowski go check him out by searching "Blasz" he plays for Wisla and is 19.

Reading won the championship and are now in the premiership. Let's hope their new manager Ruud Gullit has more foresight than to buy players like Ricketts...

Has anyone seen the new features for FM 2007? You can now have feeder clubs as well as loads of other options. The feeder clubs mean that you can buy players for them such as U18 Brazilians as well as sending youngsters out on loan to them.

Hey Parrottman. yeah ive seen the features for fm07. having a feeder club would be amazing.. infact i think itd be better BEING feeder club to say Man utd

Also you have prematch team talks now.. i hope there better than the half & Full time team talks.. such as saying take it easy this game. or keep possesion. etc.

Quick Edit: Loaded a Northwich save file 10 games before the season. this will work hopefully. if not.. ANOTHER new game for me

:p Absolutly, imagine getting all the Man Utd and Arsenal youngsters, plus Brazilian imports. It looks like all the feeder clubs will all be fairly small though.

Absolutly pre-match talks will be awesome, although i'd be tempted just to put everyone at full alert for every game. It's especially good for players who play well in big matches as you can ask them for a big performance.

hey guys

has anyone tried doing bizarre things with your team:

for example stuff ive tried to do:

Buy as many different national players for your team
Buy a team consisting of only 1 nation
Buy a team consisting of only black players (had henry and drogba up front oh yeah!!)
Buy a team consisting of the tallest players in the game (had crouch and Zigic up front) was gonna get koller but when i came up with the idea he had retired

ive tried many wacky things

some players i bought who turned out awesome include:

Armand Toure
Sindre Loe Bing
Carlos Vela
David Villa
Fernando Torres
Fabio Aurelio
Kerlon
Diego
Anderson (Internacional GK)
Simon Vuksevic
Atila

some of the brazilian and spanish players are awesome

im an evertonian by the way but experiment in loads of different leagues

So far ive done Turkish, Belgian, French, English, Scottish, Brazilian, Spanish and Italian

Pretty much has to be done in LLM games.

Would be difficult as it would require pictures of the players or prior knowledge that they were black (or scouring the african countries with the presumption that "they're all black" )

Random...fan of the long ball strategy, are we?

About the one nation team, on cm4 I managed to do that. Made the whole Arsenal squad Brazilian, just sell Henry, and buy some ageing and up coming talent. All I missed was Ronaldo, but with Robinho and Luis Fabiano up front whose complaining? :p

Finished my first season with Maidenhead United last night The relegation candidates finished 3rd out of 22, and is expected by the board to have a "safe mid-table position" this season.

My best signing of the season was a 15-year-old right-back (turned 16 a couple of weeks after signing him) who had 19 acceleration and 19 pace (both increased to 20 after a month of training). Not the best tackler, but because he can run so fast, he's always got a chance at getting to the ball before an attacker anyway Great thing is that after signing the schoolboy on a free transfer, he's now worth £35,000 and is my second-highest valued worker (my top goalscorer from last season is valued at £50,000)

Scouts are absolutely invaluable. I've got four of them, each with a "Judging Player Ability" of at least 14, costing £20 per week each. I haven't used the search function at all - ANYONE I've signed has been found by my scouts and given a 4 or 5 star rating by at least one of them. Because of their JPA rating, I know that if the scouts say a worker is good then they are good.

Thats all well and good in the short term, but the scouts finding dont usually equate to PA and PAI. I use my scouts to uncover stats only. Stats tell you a lot more in my opinion.
