Finished my first season with Maidenhead United last night The relegation candidates finished 3rd out of 22, and is expected by the board to have a "safe mid-table position" this season.
My best signing of the season was a 15-year-old right-back (turned 16 a couple of weeks after signing him) who had 19 acceleration and 19 pace (both increased to 20 after a month of training). Not the best tackler, but because he can run so fast, he's always got a chance at getting to the ball before an attacker anyway Great thing is that after signing the schoolboy on a free transfer, he's now worth £35,000 and is my second-highest valued worker (my top goalscorer from last season is valued at £50,000)
Scouts are absolutely invaluable. I've got four of them, each with a "Judging Player Ability" of at least 14, costing £20 per week each. I haven't used the search function at all - ANYONE I've signed has been found by my scouts and given a 4 or 5 star rating by at least one of them. Because of their JPA rating, I know that if the scouts say a worker is good then they are good.
A young Irish guy called Paul O'Connor. Here is a pic of his stat screen. He's not the most technically-gifted player, but his physical stats are immense. Despite a 3 for crossing and 1 for passing, I've seen him knock a few great balls into the box
Although I'm not using FM Scout for playing the game, I'll dig it out to see his PA.......his ability is 80, with a potential ability of 153. Damn, I knew he was good, but didn't realise he was quite that good
From my teamsheet of 33 players, only 6 have ability <40 Should be another good season for me, and that friendly with York (who finished 9th in the Conference National last season) being a 1-1 draw indicates just how good they are

Great start to the season...top of the league, and one of my defenders got the Man of the Match award in the opening three fixtures
Three of my four first-choice defenders and 16 years old, and the left-back is just 21 For such a young team, they're fantastic.
im arsenal in the 2007/08 season and need a new gk.
lehmann is retiring at the end of the season and is currently injured with a broken leg.
Tried to sign the big names, but bids kept getting rejected.
Am playing mark howard in goal at the mo, he was an u-18 player at the start of the game. He's ok, but doesnt keep enough clean sheets. Has some amazing games and some poor ones... lacks consistency.
It can if I'm caught on the counter-attack, in theory...but my wingback is very quick and is capable of tracking back to defend My current scoring record of 8 goals for and 2 against (those 2 consisting of a tap-in rebound and a penalty) in five matches shows that my defence is capable of holding their own.

I'm in 2026 and I'm currently managing Bradford City after an era of domestic and european domination by Ipswich Town.
I've just achieved two promotions in as many seasons with Bradford City from League 1 to the Premiership. I've tried getting my Ipswich boys in but none of them want to join and the maximum wage I can afford is £15k a week... nearly all of the "real" players are retired, with just a few like Kasper Schmeichel into their twilight years.
