My defence is really saving me at the moment. Strikers not firing now, Brandy doesn't seem to play so well against better opposition, Roberts has been crap, Moussilou can't hit a cow's backside with a banjo, Barnes is MIA... Might have to bring back Trundle from my reserves, see if he does any better. All of my current strikers have low composure, which i'm definately paying for.

I'm still doing well enough in the league so far though, my keeper and defence are very solid (though with a bit of a discipline issue). Expecting it to be a long and dull season.

Anier has been destroying the defences in this league, 9 goals in his last 7 and two consecutive POTMs keeping me in mid-table.

Not always, although I have had a match where there was 2 straight red cards in the 12th and 41st minutes, then about 8 yellows in the rest of the match

Four yellows in the first 15 minutes in my last match, all for my guys (tackling set to normal)... frustrating because all the referees seem to be taking the other team's side according to the post match report. It's not like i've even bitched about refereeing in the press!

They do seem a bit more card-happy than in previous games in the series. Though because I'm not always paying attention, there's a teeny part of me wondering that when I get loads of cards (in previous FMs I usually had little trouble keeping one of the best disciplinary records in the league) whether it's purely down to a strict ref or if there are other factors coming into play (e.g. would having an overly aggressive captain be a contributing factor, that he's encouraging the lads to get stuck in? My VC for the last season was Lee McCulloch who picks up cards for fun in the game and in real life, but I never took any notice of whether he was playing when I got a card-happy ref)


Currently busy in the transfer market, though I haven't been keeping track of what I need so I'm probably making a bit of a mess of things Arsenal have sent me a regen striker on loan, I'm fighting over a regen central defender for ~£500k, and I'm hoping to bring in Patrick van Aanholt on a free transfer since he's just left Chelsea.
Beyond that, most of my spending so far has been on regens for the U19s squad...though I screwed up a bit and accepted a move for an Albanian who can't move for two years because he's only 16 By the time he joins I'll probably have a well-established U19s squad and he won't be good enough to get into it.
