Because I say so.

Couldn't really care less to be honest.

I hope you mean OpenOffice.

I've been using Libre, but I didn't realise OpenOffice has got so good so fast. I'm so behind with the times!

I switched to Firefox ages ago :smug: :ff:

But I also use yahoo mail

Firefox? What prithee is that - some old incantation of former times?

I summon my web demons via Chrome and I use a combo of Google Sheets/Docs, notes from a specialist app and Gmail to commune with the planetary docbases.

OP probably resides in a museum someplace.

I quit with M$O, had several frustrating experiences with alternatives such as LibreOffice, OOo, or Kingsoft Office, and finally found SoftMaker Office, a pretty cool office suite made in Germany.

Compared to all other M$O alternatives, it is the only that opens / saves all Word, Excel, and PowerPoint formats faithfully. Never had problems giong back and forth by now. All others produce a lot of oddities, e.g. formatting losses.

Plus, it has a broad range of features including several additional ones compared to M$O, e.g. portable usage. The Professional version has a good Outlook alternative included (eM Client 5 Pro), and Berlitz dictionaries. All that for a
fraction of the price of M$O.

And Internet Explorer? Too slow, too many security gaps. I prefer good old Firefox.

That's really interesting, thanks for posting about the SoftMaker product.

Have you tried Chrome? I find it much faster than Firefox.

The two main competitors are Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/) and Google Docs/Sheets, Google Drive etc.
No, I'm still on the IE 5

You're way ahead of the curve compared to most 19th Century engineers.

You're a bad person, and you should feel bad. Think of those poor web developers. Seriously though, do many sites still work on IE 5?

IE6 is da best
IE and Yahoo! are a bit like walking over a hill instead of using a tunnel. Chrome and Gmail are superior.

The Google Collection is really tempting actually. Just to move everything as much as possible to Google.
