Hi everyone!

I applied for the role technical solutions specialist and I have an assessment centre on the 14th january. If anyone has applied for this role and had done the assessment centre can you please let me know how it went and what you did during the assessment centre? How would you recommend that I prepare for it? What kind of group exercises did you do?

Sorry for all the questions but this is my first assessment centre so I'm kind of nervous. Thanks.

Hi mate, just wondering if you've got any feedback from your assessment day? I've got mine on the 31st and I'm trying to prepare so just trying to dig a little into what sort of questions are asked and what the group activies are, etc.

Hi,
I didn't make it past the first part of the assessment centre so I'm not sure what questions are asked in the interview, so I can't answer that part.
In the first part of the assessment centre it consists of two group activities and an confirmatory IPAT test. My first activity was party planning, we were given a budget and had to decide venue, entrainment etc. The second group activity was testing your logic, you were given some statements and had to decide what goes where, for example we had an art exhibition gallery and had to decide where the paintings go for each artist in the gallery. Hope this helps.

Hi,
Has anyone had contact with IBM about the delay in start date from February to April?
I have passed my AC and was in the 'matching' process and now looks as though i'm playing the waiting game!!

Did you apply for a specific role that was advertised at a specific time? Otherwise they will offer you start dates when you get an offer, no need to worry about it now. I applied for late start ie, after July but they offered me May. So it's really at the discretion of the person who's making the offer. I wouldn't worry about it now. Good luck with the business matching process and hope you get an interview soon!

Hi,
Thank you for the reply!
I applied for a tech solution specialist apprenticeship so its a relatively broad job title.
I will keep you posted, thank you

That's an actual job title we've got over in the grad section too so not as broad as you think it is! In fact I applied for the TSS as well before being offered the technical consultant position. Where did you apply to? Since its not a grad role, I think its best you email them to clarify it further. Hope it goes well.

How long did they take to let you know whether you passed or failed? I took my assessment yesterday and now I have a whole weekend of waiting and then potentially another 10 working days after that. D:

Hi, I was at a assessment center on Wednesday in Southbank for Technology roles - I passed the assessment center and I'm just wondering do you think it'll be longer than say 2 weeks for me to find out anymore? Is there any chance at all that I'll be offered a job straight up or is it likely I'll have to be interviewed again?

You might have another interview f2f or over telephone but it'll be more casual. Mainly to discuss your roles and details about the job

You'll be interviewed again to make sure you're actually suitable for the role you applied for. AC was just to see if you fit the IBM's ideals, interview to make sure that you actually are qualified to do the job in whichever department that chooses you first.

They told me the next day that I passed the assessment centre and after 6 days they came back to me with the offer. No extra interview for me
It's not always that fast, so don't worry about waiting a bit longer...who knows, maybe you'll get the offer today  it's all up to them
Good Luck!

Ahaha 'fraid I didn't pass the assessment centre. Ah well!
Just seen this thread - anyone passed assessment centre for 2015 roles and waiting to hear back re matching?

Hey, yeah I had my assessment centre for the early 2015 intake on sept. 3rd, and I heard back the next morning via email letting me know that I had passed and my application was being reviewed further by the business.

I received another email today stating that my application was still under review and if I have any questions to let them know, and that they will keep me informed as to the outcome of my application.

Just playing the waiting game. Is anyone else in this situation?

Hi I had an Assesment centre last week and heard back the next day that I passed and just waiting on the next steps.

Anyone any advice on how long the wait is? And the likeliness of possibly not securing a job at this stage?
Can someone cliff me on what to write about on the "personal statement" section of the IBM template cv..Thanks!
I just wrote about why I wanted to be a business consultant (as that's the role I applied for ) and why I thought I'd be a good one. Anyone else waiting to hear back after their business interview?

I've had my interview and received an email saying I passed and they'll be in touch. What next?!
