AH chemistry aspirin investigation

Hi guys,
I'm doing my investigation on the purity of aspirin.
I'm going to get 4 different brands of aspirin and do a titration and melting point test on each brand. But I can't seem to find a straightforward method for melting point anywhere, would you have any ideas?

Basically, it's very simple if you have the right apparatus... I'm assuming your college does? Maybe? Hopefully?

All you need to do is find a reputable source which states the melting point range of Aspirin. Then all you have to do is plug this value into the melting point apparatus and just measure the range over which the crystals melt.

If you don't have a melting point apparatus: a quick google search threw this method up from the RSC... You want to be looking at page 27

When you say crystals how do I make the crystals? Because I'm using commercial tablets so can I just crush the tablets into a powder and use that or do I actually have to make crystals and how do I do that?

Hey, I did my extended project on this exact topic at school.

I used this method and it worked really really well.

pm me if you want to ask me more questions, I also measured degradation of aspirin which was my main focus.

Oh just the tablets will be fine, just grind them like you say and it should work absolutely fine. If not, sue me.
