Anyone doing, or have done, Environmental Science?

If so, how do you rate the course, support and materials etc.?

I'm currently in full time employment with a leading water company, and I thoroughly enjoy working for them and learning anything I can regarding the distribution of water on the network.

Ideally, I would like to work towards something related to my working environment; Hydrology at the moment sounds right up my street! Still keeping an eye open for other water related courses and qualifications.

Environmental Science sounds like an excellent starting point for me, so any information regarding this course would be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Hello

I personally don't study environmental science but I know friends who do and as I am staying biology and chemistry with the OU the first module is the same for environmental too.

You start of with S104 exploring science, this covers all aspects of science such as biology, chemistry, physics, geology, astronomy and environmental studies. After this you specialise... Level 2 and 3 have modules based around water and environmental factors only or you can branch out a little

Course materials are excellent, well written and tutors are normally are PhD researchers in the field you are choosing.. Environmental students have a few field trips to engage you more

Some of my fellow students have completed environmental degrees with OU and are now water analysts for Thames valley water

Hi, thank you for your reply! It's reassuring to know that people who have taken this course of further education are now working in their desired field within the water industry.

This course sounds right up my street, and cannot wait to get stuck in. I'd never really considered distance learning before thinking it was more of a gimmick. Having looked further into OU, it does sound the perfect solution to get where I want to be!

Thanks again.
