Beverley High School students put their French language skills to the test on trip to

PUPILS from an East Riding school became immersed in the French culture and language when they lived with host families for a study week in France.

Sixteen Beverley High School students put their language skills to the test on the trip to the city of Nice, on the French Riviera.

Spending their mornings at France Langue, a language school for students from all around the world, pupils from the girls' secondary improved their fluency in French.

High school French teacher Julie Wilson said: "The students were becoming more confident speaking French by the end of the week and we all wanted to stay to enjoy more of the Mediterranean sunshine and the lifestyle."

As well as speaking French, they also met other international students from countries including Brazil, Sweden and Germany.

In the afternoons, the group visited the old town of Nice, the medieval town of Eze and Monaco.

French isn't a very useful language these days... but if my secondary school had taken us on a school trip to Nice for GCSE, you bet I would've chosen French over German in a heartbeat! Lovely part of the world down there.

Not to be offensive but I really don't see the point of this thread... I went to shop last thursday. Should I have posted that?
