Turmeric is the best exfoliation product on the market.

You sure? I worry about it going in my eyes :afraid:

Edit: Question I meant to ask Tyrion. I have quite thin, cat like eyes, and it means you can't really see much of my eye cap where eye shadow would go. I have some gorgeous eye shadows at home, but when I put them on they look bloody awful on me and make my eyes look weird. I think maybe because they are so small and you can't see much. Is there a certain way to make eye shadow look good on weirdly shaped eyes? I'm probably not applying it very well, but even when I think I do it looks a mess. Maybe it's just not for me.

Do you mean hooded eyes? I have slightly hooded eyes and basically hat I have to do it apply my shadow higher than where I would if I didn't.

I've drawn a terrible pain diagram

On the left we have a normal eye applying eyeshadow. You apply a colour all over the lower lid and a darker colour in the crease. For hooded eyes, you do the same but then you apply the darker colour slightly above the crease. That way when you open your eye you'll still see it.

Obviously these pictures are **** and don't show blending or anything

That seems like a lot of effort for eyeliner, I just use a gel eyeliner and I'm pretty sure my eyes look fine without the need for the extra eyeshadow and primer :iiam:

You mentioned something about mineral oils for cleansers, does argan oil fall under that category? :ninja:

You don't have to do the eyeshadow if you don't want, she just shows how to do eyeliner

I actually don't know that, because it's to do with the chains which is the chemistry side of it. L'Evil Fish who explained about the sizes of the molecules may know
Do you have any recommendation on an affordable high-street brand concealer? It's mainly to cover up dark circles and a little redness.

I've never really used concealer and foundation because my skin is generally quite good, but on certain days of the month.......

There's not much you can do to reduce them but retin creams can help thicken the skin which means they won't show through as much.

For concealers, the best advice I can give you is to use a corrector underneath. I use bobbi brown one and it makes concealers more effective.

Thanks for the advice  I know theres not much that can be done for dark circles :frown: I'll take your advice though

They're really irritating. I have bad ones that look heroin chic and I hate it. I've heard really good thinks about the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer

Check out Kris' review

I'm going to buy one of these soon and I'll update how well it works

A good drugstore concealer is collection 2000

NYX also have some really good ones

I use NYX Lipsticks and their quality is the same as MAC.

Brown. I do a brown smokeyish eye most days, and so I like to have a variety of browns going from champagne to dark chocolate. I actually don't have a favourite atm, boyfriend is buying me Urban Decay's Naked Palette soon and I think that may become my new favourite :awesome: It's sooo pretty and amazing

Thanks. I'll try them out.
Really?? I was considering getting myself a MAC lipstick because of all the recommendations I've been given.

MAC lipsticks are great but NYX I find are similar quality. I have Snow White and it's a dupe for MAC's dubonnet. I did a review on my blog if you want to see. It's less orangey than it looks there the first photo is the actual colour

The only advantage of MAC is you can try them in a store whereas NYX you have to order online

How do you get the little eyeliner flicks to stay equal?

I always end up doing one different to the other :frown:

Draw the line going up from your lower lashline then it should be the same

Ah I see. I tend to go for more lighter shades that the one you showed on your blog. Darker ones don't tend to suit me so well.
I definitely want to try it out because MAC ones are too expensive for my budget.

I've just found a store locator and they have a few in London where I live, so I think I'll look for it next time I'm out shopping

I didn't know they were stocked in stores in the UK  Ah you're lucky you live near one, I always have to order online.

Just seen they have them in Wolverhampton, definitely going to investigate...for...science.

Yes, I mean.. anything for science, right???

Haha thanks for the suggestions btw. I'm looking through the site now and the prices seem amazing. I wouldn't have thought to try it out. There's probably just a small selection in store but it's worth a try

So I see a few questions around here asking for makeup and skincare advice, and I thought it would be good to put a thread together.

Do you know how to properly put on eye shadow? I've got downward sloping eyes, something like this

and each time I put on some eyeshadow, especially the smoky ones, It looks as If someone's just punched me in the face :s-smilie:
