Why can't women join the infantry?

I agree with the men and women separation because a lot of comments here say men would protect the women over helping wounded troops BUT what if patrols and stuff like that were split so that it's like a only men or a only women patrol? Do you think that would work better AND solve all of the problems that might be encountered if it was a mix gender patrol?
