No...? It's just because cos (x + n*2pi) = cos (x)

How would we know what n is? What information would we use?
It doesn;t matter what n is, thats my point. The torsion will be the same if you rotate it by 360 or by any multiple of 360!!!!!

oh ok so when working out the torsion potential we don't need to worry about what n is, but if its not necessary why is it in the equation?
