This thread is so worrying me haha. Our class has only just started on treating dysfunctional behaviour. How the helllll are we going to get to forensics at this rate?!

Yeah but it seemed excessive...being as we have already covered most of it!

I kinda wish that we started with that exam, it seems easy and quick to cover, and can help improve evaluations for part B in g543.

I've only covered turning to crime for forensic and healthy living, stress and dysfunctional behaviour for health and clinical. That's only half - since september.. and to think that those in the year above had to do this exam in january!

Hi! I know this is for G543 but any predictions for the G544 exam?

I think the psychodynamic perspective will come up for Section B?

I haven't studied that yet and have barely looked at it.. but my teacher has a bad feeling that an approach won't come up.. maybe an issue or something
Hi guys, I am on a gap year and did both G543 and G544 last year and got A's in both papers. I learned the studies for health and crime from this book, word-for-word!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/OCR-Psychology-Key-Studies-Companion/dp/1444123440/ref=pd_sim_b_3 If you have any questions, feel free to ask .

I also read these as extra reading...
Forensic: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Forensic-Psychology-Palgrave-Insights/dp/0230249426/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1390399053&sr=8-8&keywords=forensic+psychology
Health: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Health-Psychology-Palgrave-Insights/dp/0230249450/ref=pd_sim_b_3

My number one tip for this paper: Write 3 paragraphs per essay - not 4! 4 does not give the examiner enough depth of information and there just isn't enough time.

For my G543 paper, I predicted each sub topic that came up in the paper, which played to my advantage. I will post my predictions for the June 14 exam, if someone can give me the link to the June 13 paper, just as a reminder what came up. Thanks.

Ahh that's great thank you! Will check those books out.

How do you predict what will come up by the way? I did it for AS but there's so many studies and sub topics that it gets a bit confusing. Also, I have the june 13 paper at home, so I'll post what came up when I'm home later

Thanks for your help!

I literally wrote out all the subtopics and picked the ones that hadn't yet come up, and surprisingly, it worked! I can explain in more detail once I see the paper and remember how I actually did it! Thanks for the paper in advance

Thanks for the links. Do you think the first book is any good? The review says it's 1 star?

Also I'm finding Psychology so hard, I guess it's because AS was different to A2. I'm used to learning studies and just regurgitating them but now I have to use them to answer a question which is something I can't do.

Any tips? PM?

I personally found the first book the best because it went into enough detail for the examiner. It doesn't however include evaluation points of the studies, but I was able to make them up for myself. Feel free to ask me any questions about the studies or essay structures etc in PM if you wish!
Ok so here are my notes from this book. http://www.amazon.co.uk/OCR-Psychology-Key-Studies-Companion/dp/1444123440/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_i

I've also included my notes for the G544 paper.

I would also like to add that in my January mock I got a U due to having other exams that counted, and got an A in June! 75 studies to learn in 6 months is possible!

Gudjohnsson was ethical as it was only a review of a false confession,
however it only reviewed one case so isn't generalisable, it collected qualitative data so provided an in depth understanding,
however this would be hard to compare with other cases of false confessions as what happens is subjective (open to interpretation) :-)

Can't remember off the top of my head what the other 2 are about but I hope that helps!

Thank you.

How far is everyone in their course? We have only completed turning to crime and one section from the health unit. We studied the approaches exam first

Has anyone got any good evaluation points for Seligman's cognitive explanation of depression? (the dog study)

Cant be generalised to humans very well as the evidence is from dogs.. but may be seen as reliable as he found consistencies between symptoms if sepression and aymptoms of learned helplessneas
