Oxbridge Engineering Interviews

Hey guys, I was fortunate enough to receive an engineering interview from Oxford but so far am finding it a struggle to find any good questions. I understand that Oxford are hardly likely to ask me boring textbook stuff but more ...logic based questions? Questions like 'If you were to drill a hole through the centre of the Earth and jump down (up?) it, what would happen?" Does anyone know any more questions like that? Or even possibly a website source for a bunch of similar questions to get me warmed up for the interview

Not an official resource but gives you some ideas: https://sites.google.com/site/oxbridgeinterviewquestions/engineering

My advice would be to brush up on your Physics and Maths - get those basic/intermediate equations correct in your head, then its a case of working out what the question is really asking and applying the necessary skills as appropriate.

My second piece of advice and one you must 100% listen to, is that even if they ask you a question that completely stumps you , you have to work it through with them. Start off small, break it down and go from there. Never say 'I don't know' and never just sit there at length trying to work it out in your head. If you are seen to attempt to work through a problem no matter how complex, 9 times out of 10 they will literally give you a helping hand to get the answer , but they probably wont if your not saying much!

Remember the point of these interviews is not to trick you, but for the tutors to see your academic POTENTIAL and also whether they feel they could realistically teach you over a 3/4 year period of time.
