Anybody catch Mighty Michael van Gerwen on Sky Sports?

What an athlete.

What first round matches are people liking the looks of?

I'm liking Klaasen vs. Kist, Part vs. Brown and Whitlock vs Darren Webster.

I think there are some great first round games in story, Roby-John against Barneveld, amongst them, Taylor's up against someone who knows his trade as well in Artut

I think it's when you look at the second and third round potential match ups where things get very exciting, Lewis has got probably one of the toughest potential championship routes going: Part, Barneveld, Wade, Taylor and van Gerwen to lift the trophy

Looking at that first round draw I think you can make a case for several of the unseeded players to cause some upsets particularly over the best of five sets, and I reckon we'll lose at least six seeds in the first round but it could well be more
Today's the day!
The bottom half of the draw is ridiculous. I can't see past MVG in the top half but you can make a good case for five or six in the bottom half.
Gone through my match by match predictions for round one

Seeds to lose (In my book) Baxter, Andy Smith, Beaton, Klassen, and van der Voort - with Paul Nicholson, Dean Winstanley and John Part to all have very narrow wins

Just saying so you can lump on them to win their games now
How have Sky just done a hour long preview show and not mentioned Wade once?

Come on Part!!! I'd love to see him roll back the years.
Now predicted the rest of the draw and I reckon it will be Taylor who defeats Van Gerwen in a 13th set in the Final.

Shocks? Could be plenty but I think we'll see a quarter-final line up without Wade, Wright or Whitlock
Doubt Wright will reach the QFs either.
I'm glad Part showed some fight and didn't get destroyed. I like Brown though, so not that disappointed to see Part lose.
MvG didn't look on form. He'll get better as the tournament progresses, though.
Already had the first shock with Wes Newton knocked out.
Stand up if you love the darts.
The two preliminary round winners safely through to the second round and I particularly think that Gurney if he gets through can beat Baxter

Three seeds gone already.

Just watched what happened in the Newton v Reyes match in terms of the match reaching 5-5. Shows you how easily odd things can happen
Bye bye Whitlock.
Goodbye Paul Nicholson as well
I was stuck between Nicholson and van de Pas as to who would win. Not overly surprised Nicholson's gone. In 18 matches we've lost 8 seeds
