Night life at Bristol

I'm hoping to go to Bristol for uni in 2014. I'm from London and we have a diverse nightlife. I'm wondering if Bristol is the same. Are there clubs that play Bashment, Afrobeats and Hip hip there is it more Dubstep, Drum and Bass and pop music?

I can't quite believe I'm trying to answer this, but for want of any other answer - Bristol has an extremely diverse nightlife and I think most tastes are catered for somewhere. Does this give you a starting point?

Thanks, I was just checking because my friend goes there and she says it's very Ravey, if you get what i mean
I once fell asleep in the toilet of syndicate for 3 hours. It was a good night.

I can answer questions about some of the clubs if you like having spent 2 years going clubbing in Bristol.
