Pharmacy calculation question

Hey guys,

can anyone help me out on how to do this question? the answer in my booklet says 179mg?

A commercially available tablet contains 0.2 g of FeSO4 2H2O. How many milligrams of elemental iron are represented in a daily dose of three tablets?

Thank you :smile:

Work out the total relative molecular mass, then work out the percentage of that that comes from iron, then multiply by your total weight.

total Mr = 188
Fe = 56 so 56/188 = 0.298, multiply by 600mg gives you 179mg
