Really can screw with you. But yes some people in banking have to have these. Had it at DB, just to see how much of a dependent you are or see if any issues arise.

OP, your annual entitlement is just that, yours. But it is team dependent as well. Let's say If 5 people have already booked off the time you intended you take off and you are a team of 8, you may find yourself being refused for entitlement due to lack of team being around.

A bit of common sense helps here. A few days or a week after starting, you could ask. Or if there is any kind of shift rota or schedule up, take a look on that.
