Going back to college at 21

I've been to college once, and I tried uni but the path I took is not for me. I wanna go back to college and do something else, but I'm now 21 and I don't know how I would go about applying and such.

Is it different applying as an adult eg. Do I have to pay for going to college?

Can anybody give me any details or anything that can help me?

I was 21 when I went back to college. I didn't have to pay anything but I believe that was because I had no college level qualifications. I believe that if you don't have (e.g.) BTEC L3 qualification (or equivalent) then you will be able to do it free of charge. However if you were able to apply for a UNI then I assume you have A levels (or something like that) and in that case I'm not sure.
