Complete various textbook questions to gain an understanding of each concept and to improve pace and accuracy. Once you've done the basic questions e.g. Exercise 1A, 2A etc. move onto the mixed/review exercise which often contains harder questions linking each concept - these questions will improve your analytical thinking.
Once you've done this then you are ready to move onto past-papers. Do not move onto past-papers without a good understanding of each concept/topic. Many students on this forum will tell you to just do 'past-papers' which is very ambiguous as they are not stating exactly what they did before moving onto past-papers which is usually what I described in the first paragraph.
