Importance of undergraduate chemistry for a few interdisciplinary careers

Hi, I'm an A level student (AS) currently thinking about my potential undergraduate courses. Having considered nanotechnology/solid state physics/microelectronics research as one of my possible career paths, while being aware of the interdisciplinary nature of such fields (incorporating many areas of chemistry of course), I have been wondering how much chemistry should be studied at an undergraduate level. (i.e. joint degree/electives?) (As I hope to study physics) Will not studying chemistry significantly impede and hinder postgraduate (PhD) work in the fields mentioned above? In other words, will it be too difficult to catch up?

Any opinions are much appreciated.
