Also women are still valued/judged on their looks/ their bodies. A good looking women is thought of and treated better than an ugly woman. If you are an ugly female life is very very hard, whereas for good looking women there are certain things that are ALOT easier.

This point is hardly exclusive go women, men are also judged on their looks in addition to their financial success and social status, so it's probably even worse for men

most men would love to see naked chicks in public, are you kidding? and for free? if anyone is against it it's women. that's why most nudists are by far men. the problem with a page 3 guy is nobody would buy it except gay men. that's why there's a whole industry of nudity built around and women while playgirl is the only alternative i can think of and most of the buyers are gay men.

So women, in your mind, aren't sexual beings in the way that men are?

I'm a male and I have recieved whistles, I've had my ass grabbed before.

It's not ok for men to objectify woman, but when a hunky man is on TV, woman can grab what they want and its ok, but if a guy grabsd a girl its seen as wrong and assault.

This is true.

Because now men are not labelled as sexist re. page 3. It is the woman's 'choice'. '

It always has been the woman's choice and it was never sexist in the first place.

Haha, I'm imagining a Page 3 with naked men* on it. There'd be such an uproar. "This is sexism! It's making us feel uncomfortable!"

Welcome to the world of being female.

Wtf are you on about? Page 3 is aimed at heterosexual men, why would it have naked men on it for?

There are plenty of porno mags that are aimed women (and gay men) with naked men in them

Torso of the week etc shows they are, quite a few girls seem to base their attraction to someone on how 'fit' they are. The only difference really is that women are more interested in the upper body than the lower body.

Hah, I've wondered about that, too (the upper/lower body thing).

Yes, but are these porno mags as mainsteam as Page 3 and stuff like Nuts?

The Sun is a national newspaper which everyone reads, not just heterosexual men.

The market dictates whether it is mainstream or not. If more women were to buy porno mags or the demand was higher, they would become more prevalent and mainstream.

What do you mean everyone reads The Sun as if it's forced upon you or something? The primary demographic of The Sun are heterosexual men, therefore the content is clearly targeted towards them

I meant that The Sun is, first and foremost, a newspaper. It is not a magazine dedicated to women's breasts.

"The market dictates" yeah, okay. The market influences people's choices just as people's choices influence the market; think of it as a circle.

why isn't there a huge porn industry for women? or nude mags? or male prostitutes? or brothels for women? or strip clubs? why do women love ''romance'' novels? how many times you ever heard a guy complain about how women just wants sex? why no lesbian or straight bathhouses? why no lesbian or straight grindr? put an ad on a dating site and you will get 100 or more sex or dating offers on the same day in a large city, doesn't even matter how you look. a guy would be lucky to get 1. so yeah, i do believe men and women are very different when it comes to sex.

however men need gratification, its biology. A lot of men who try to go 4 or 5 days without masturbating end up having a wet dream and ejaculate during their sleep because men are biologically meant to relieve themselves.

"It's biology" is the automatic comeback for guys who try to defend their casual sexism, I swear

"But it's biology, I'm biologically inclined to go and grind up against that stranger!"

So what if it's a national newspaper, it can still have a target audience and that audience happens to be men. Get over it, if you don't like it then don't read it.

You seem to have a very poor understanding of how economics and supply and demand works. The simple fact is that if more women wanted to buy these types of magazines, then more companies would be producing them and they would be more readily available. Why would a company produce a magazine that hardly anyone wants to buy because the demand is so low? You don't just launch a magazine and then hope and pray someone will buy it.

Because men aren't seen as sex objects first and people second.

Obviously. We all grew up in a society which has very different - and unfair - ideas about male and female sexuality.

I don't grind up against strangers and I don't wolf whistle at them. A few weeks ago I paid for a taxi to get a girl I didn't know home from a club because she was too drunk to stand and some creepy guy was offering to 'look after her.' Please explain where I have been sexist and stop making leaps in logic, I have explained that men need masturbate due to biology, at no point did I claim that excuses sexist behaviour.

and biology has nothing to do with it? ever heard of testosterone? when women have 15 times more testosterone , then they can talk.

When a man wolf whistles at a passing female, is he
necessarily saying that she is nothing more than her sexual attraction or is he simply being obnoxious about his appreciation?
People need to separate looks from what they are actually like as a person or individual. If someone beeps you as they drive past, I don't think it means anything more than they think you're attractive. They're not saying "I want you to have sex with me". It may be inappropriate and embarrassing for the girl (or boy), but they can ignore him/her and carry on like the incident never happened.

Of course people are more than what they present on the outside, they may be intelligent, hard working etc., and nobody is saying otherwise when they refer to you as "hot" or whatever. The beeper wouldn't have known that, but does it really matter what a random person thinks, that you're never going to see again?

When a woman in a music video is wearing skimpy clothing, is she really being used as nothing more than an instrument of sexual pleasure?

Possibly in this context and the individual woman is an instrument, but her actions do not affect other women. She chooses to wear skimpy clothing and behave with men, there is no harm done there. If women say "other man may think that all women are sexual instruments" they really need to grow up and actually have a higher opinion of men, as they are more than capable of realising that women are different and whilst some are models or dancers, others are academic and driven to those industries like law or business. Models/dancers are intelligent too but in different ways because they know that their bodies will help them to make money.
