Should I tell my boss?

I sent a draft (or some sort of an idea) on how to implement a particular diplomatic policy in this company I'm currently attached to. It was basically my own proactive initiative to improve the policy of this particular company. It got accepted and I'm happy with that.

Now, I'm not actually attached to the company, more of an outsourced staff from my actual company that I'm working for. Should I tell my boss from the parent company that my idea got accepted or just move on and act as if it's not really a news worthy thing?

I asked because I don't want to be seen as gloating or arrogant or whatnot to the upper management : /
you should be recognised it isn't gloating if you put it across in the right way if anything it shows you are valuable to the company and will help you in the future
