Hello, old familiar...

Like a phoenix borne of the ashes

TUESDAY AM: lower B - legs

Back squat - warmups + 110 x 3,3,3,3,3,3
SLDLs - warmups + 90 x 3, 100 x 8, 5
Hyperextensions - BW x 10, +15kg x 10 + BW x 6, +10kg x 10 + BW x 10
Calf raises - DB, 30kg x 12, 42kg x 12,12,12
Weighted plank - +40kg x 30s

Squat mobility sucked. Form all over the place. 6 triples.

SLDLs made up for that, very good glute contractions and flat neutral back, felt hamstrings in this.

Hypers were ok as usual. Fatiguing.

Calf raises were good. Weighted plank good.

Looking forward to the beard, actually contemplating letting mine grow into full beard mode rather than keeping it at stubble.

You never bench or OHP anymore, out of curiosity? Seen a lot of people who train for size use dumbbells instead, but everyone seems to say beginners should use barbells. Is that purely to allow for linear progression?

I do do benching and pressing movements these days but only with DBs - they give me a better stretch and fuller ROM - ROM is the essence of stretch, and stretch is the essence of hypertrophy. Also doing a few machine presses, namely a shoulder press that has a curvilinear path, meaning it isolates my upper chest in the bottom but is finished by delts and traps.

I'm growing my beard out in full with no trimming for next 6-8 months - trying to grow a beard like in my avatar - Google Ricki Hall
