Getting an A* in A2 Maths

For my AS Year I took Core 1, Core 2 and Statistics 1 for my AS Maths. This year I am taking Core 3 Core 4 and Mechanics 1. Im confused by the awarding of A* Grades and am wondering if it is still possible to get an A* despite taking an AS Module (Mechanics) instead of Statistics 2 (an A2 Module). Is anyone certain of how it works? I got a mid A overall last year if that helps. Thanks

You need to score at least 480/600 overall AND at least 180/200 over C3 and C4.

So the applied modules don't count towards it? Thanks!
