Anyone doing automotive engineering?

Just curious if there're some people out there who applied for it, and why they did

I did apply to Automotive Engineering Courses at Bristol/Bath, Motorsport Engineering at Brunel and Mechanical at Bristol and Birmingham

I applied for brunel as well they gave me a conditional offer AAA
I don't know what they were thinking but the fact that this uni is full with rude boys out put me off anyway..
Might try to get into bath with adjustment but I don't know.. Did you get any offers?

Got offers from Brunel and Southampton.
Brunel - average overal 10, and 90% from exams.
Southamton - average 8/10 and at least 8/10 in Physics and Maths.

Hope to get an offer from Bath ;D

You got an offer from Southampton ? I bet you'll get into bath easily! I'll just have to work on that A in maths don't know about physics tough....

I have applied for MSc automotive engineering for bath, bradford, huddersfield and brunel.

Also i have got an offer from derby to study Msc Motorsport engineering.

I really want to get into bath.. The A in maths will be easy however, the A in ohysics will be quite tricky for me :/
I can do all the calculations pretty easy but my wording is quite bad during the qwc questions... I'm also doing AS and A2 ohysics at the same time..
Why did you take automotive engineering?

because I am always enthusiastic and passionate about everything related to cars and I have reached a point where I decided that my future career should be in something related to cars.

Hmm sounds good, my target is to prevent the naturally aspirated v8 engines from becoming extinct... I have no problems with Diesel engines or one litre three cylinders. I just love naturally aspirated engines ^^

wooow very nice, I am also a big fan of V8 engines.
so what are you planning to do?
have you applied for any university?
and you are in undergraduate level right?

I'm hoping to get into automotive engineering at brighton bath or surrey.. I already received an aab offer from brighton and brunel.. Surrey has rejected me... I'm trying to work towards the A in maths and German while getting the B in physics..
So yeah still doing a levels..
I hope I can get into surrey and bath through adjustment if I overachieve.. Let's see... Did you do physics at A levels?

very good .. I have applied for bath and brunel but did not hear back yet, but I am applying for master level I have graduated about 2 months ago with BSc (Hons) Mechanical Engineering.. the grading system is totally different here I don't yet understand yours in Britain but in high school I got 90/100 in physics and also in my undergraduate level I took so many physics courses.

I have a question
If I study automotive engineering will I still be able to work somewhere else, where general mechanical engineering is more suitable?

depends with the job, if the job wants pure mechanical engineering expertise then no but usually many other jobs will happily take someone with an automotive eng degree as it is essentially mech eng just more specialised to road vehicles.

Can You tell any examples?

for example, building services engineering positions will only recruit people who did building service engineering degrees or mechanical engineering (this also applies to some oil and gas positions i.e. only take mech engineers/chem engineers) and wouldn't take anything else outside these disciplines whereas say a design engineer position can say we want electrical/automotive/mechanical/aero disciplines and isn't tied down to one specialism.
