Well, in school I think you'd be in a lower set class for bad grammar. (;
As strange as it sounds, I think people who care about this kind of thing just know what 'class' they are. If you are unsure and feel the need to have someone else tell you that you are perhaps middle class just because you can sit on a horse, I would say you are likely not middle class...
It's somewhat classless, I think, to care about which class you belong to.
