Re: Broadgate Park-ers!They've finally told me that I'm in Alders, which is Block 30 on this map. Is it a dump, fantastic or somewhere in the middle?(Original post by simeon)
Right, Ok. I think that they're all in the newest blocks. -
Re: Broadgate Park-ers!If you've met him enough to form that opinion, think yourself lucky Reg.(Original post by The Regend)
Is Mr. Greedy the warden again this year? Agh, can't stand that man!
To most Freshers, the BGP Warden and Tutors are the stuff of myth, legend and the occasional accusation. -
Re: Broadgate Park-ers!Im also an undergrad in a BGP studio, Larches(Original post by Jet)
Oh no! Im a first year undergrad and have been offered an ensuite studio at broadgate park. Reading these posts im worried ill be the only undergrad amoungst all the postgrads!
I must admit i was abit worried about not sharing a kitchen because of the social side but hey, i think uni is what you make of it. Look forward to bumping into you, drunk and lost around Broadgate in the early hours

Re: Broadgate Park-ers!
I'm an undergrad too and will be starting my 2nd year. Not really worried about the social side as I figure I already have a small network of people through a few societies and friends from 1st year, and I'm sure I'll end up getting to know my neighbours regardless of the lack of communal kitchen.
Anyway, there's so many ways of socialising that it's very hard to be a complete loner- and this is coming from someone that is admittedly a very awkward social person/closet goth. I think the important thing is not being too overwhelmed with everything: If you don't have friends in hall, then there's still people on your course who are in the same boat, and if that doesn't work out you have dozens of societies to find people into the same things you are. And failing all that, I'm sure you could probably arrange to meet you've spoken to on TSR. -
Re: Broadgate Park-ers!Hey Jet, I'm also gonna be in Broadgate in an ensuite studio AND i'm an undergrad. It would be hard to socialize if you make it hard for yourself. The best ppl to talk to about our situation would be those who were actually in our situation. Catered students or broadgate students who share kitchens wouldnt really be able to comment on our situation as theyve never been through it. So contact a broadgate student in our situation if you can and then listen to what they gotta say. But dont get worried for no real reason. There will be too many ppl around for you to be lonely!(Original post by Jet)

Are any other undergrads going to be living in a studio this year? I guess it will be harder to mix and socialise because im not sharing a kitchen but hopefully I wont be completely outcast and lonley! Party in my room!!
