Hi!

Has anyone heard about any RCA's interviews? I heard they used to send invitations between the end of January and 14th February, so I'm getting a bit stressed right now.. any news?

One of my docs wasn't uploaded correctly so they asked me to send it again yesterday... I've heard we'll know by the 14th Feb, I agree, it's pretty stressful! Just got to try to think of something else what will be, will be. Arrgh. Good luck!

Printmaking, so the Battersea campus. Would you be in Kensington? Did you go to the open day?

Yes, in Kensington. Animation studios are in the Steven's building, next to Darwing's ( I think the library is common to all schools). I went there in the open days, the facilities are amazing and I really enjoy hearing from student's and staff experience in the school. They were all extremely likable and simple, like they were also colleagues and all. I didn't go to the Battersea campus, its were all the Fine Art programs are right? Printmaking, Painting, Sculpture. I'm from Fine Arts (Painting) so I am very curious about Painting and Printmaking facilities.

Yea I think the RCA did a great job of presenting and communicating, generally, at the open day. I can't speak for Painting but the Printmaking facilities are incredible. I've never seen so much specialist equipment in one place!

Love the Kensington location too though; I actually applied for Animation years ago but didn't get in, in retrospect I can see why. I'd only really started animating about 4 months before applying, so didn't have enough material / certainty about my application. The course looked great then, I bet it is now too. Again, best of luck.

Uau! Do you still continue animating? I'd love to see some of the stuff you're working on! How many projects have you submitted at the time you applied?
I work with animation since my Fine Arts Bachelor, but it is a bit experimental (oil on glass, stop-motion, scratching and interventions on prints). I did pretty much the same you did when you applied, I worked a lot this past 6 months on old and new films. It was really tough though, doing everything in 6 months but even though it was a risk it was worth it. I think we all need schedules to force us to give our best and get the laziness away. Again, good luck!

hey marialice, I can't really remember how much I submitted, it was ages ago and I think I tend to dump failed attempts from my memory to retain my optimism!

I hand animated a 25 second piece & did an even shorter stop motion piece but I don't think I did much more than that. Your experimental stuff sounds super cool!

Hey I just looked up the animation I did and it's still on YouTube, ahh forgot about it! Thanks for reminding me

Have you got any of your stuff up anywhere?

Wow love your work, gorgeous stuff! Dilúvio is super cool.

I haven't heard from the RCA yet, it's torture. I know we're not meant to hear until the 14th. It will either be a happy Valentine's Day... or not.

And yea that is my work on my tumblr. Although the more recent stuff isn't all up there, I should fix that (but have been concentrating on my physical portfolio).

No nothing yet, I think we'll hear back from them tomorrow or at the very least next week, I'm pretty nervous about what the interview will be like if I do get an invitation!

Anyone heard any interview stories?

Found some posts about last year interviews somewhere in this forum. I think it takes about 20min, and in critical studies they didn't actuay ask any questions at all..it.must be different to each department..Best of luck!
