I think its because the actual person playing the girl is a guy and without the apostrophe it would be Jamie so its ironic that the apostrophe turns the name into a girls one...

Summer Heights High is hilarious! It's 3 different characters. There's Ja'ime, a drama teacher called Mr G and a boy called Jonah, all portrayed by Chris Lilley. I watched them all on YouTube :smile:
