Traffic Flow Maps?

Hello,

I am just wondering does anybody have any knowledge of the method of creating "traffic flow maps."

Basically, on Monday I have my third hour of controlled assessment and have to concentrate on the traffic flow in Avebury and translate it into a traffic flow map like the one pictured:

city-of-london-town-planning-survey-traffic-flow-in-1904-1935-1944-map-147944-p.jpg

Can someone please help me? I have no knowledge of creating one at all so can I please have a fairly simple method and any advice? Thanks

Thank you.

If it helps, I do have traffic count data that I recorded myself while on a field trip.
I'd imagine you'd need to know where cars have come from and the direction they left in as a base. Then compile this data accordingly so that you can create arrows so that the chunkier/thicker they are, the heavier the flow in that direction.

I'd imagine Avebury would be more straightforward than the City of London now I've Googled it.
