I'm answering this topic too! The pre release topic thing sounds quite open to quite a lot of examples.
Human factors could be examples of globalisation, geo-politics, westernisation, war and tourism.
I'm really struggling for physical factors however, I would be grateful of any help

Hiya,
Human Factors
- advanced or lack of technology (synoptic link to development gap and technological fix)
- Colonialism
- Species under threat due to trampling/ poaching ect (Buffalo and Native Americans)
- Migration policies instilled by the government
-Creations of dams diverting rivers ect
- Exploitation of resources by TNCs (Amazon tribes)
Water insecurity- over abstraction

Physical Factors
-Extreme climates e.g. Sahara
-Climate Change
- Mountainous barriers creating isolation (North Africa and the rest of Africa)
-Islands (we can use contrasting examples japan, Iceland and UK)

I'm struggling with physical factors aswell! I suppose could say geographical isolation reduces cultural diversity!

I think the pre release is too broad...this is how we are going to get screwed!
Is it asking us to what extent human and physical factors affect cultural diversity?
What does the term 'degree' mean?
In the research section, does contrasting locations link at the different scales?

Yes definitely!
I think we are going to have to look a lot deeper though, I have suggested a few in the comment above but human factors come a lot easier tbh
Maybe we can break climate change down?
Sea level rise- leading to land erosion
Increased drought
Threats to biodiversity- disruptions in food chain
Effects on Arctic- economic and social affecting the natives way of life? Environmental refugees?

We could talk about El nino and La Nina?
