Which to firm out of these two?

Aston - Business Management with placement year

Or

Kent - Business Administration with placement year

I don't know which to firm! I currently live in london. Which uni is more prestigious?

They're probably about the same in terms of prestige, which isn't a fantastic top priority when deciding how to spend the next three or four years of your life anyway.

Have you visited the unis? Does either have a course that appeals to you more than the other?

I recently got offers from both so haven't visited yet hopefully I will visit both soon. If you had offers from both which would you firm?

I've never visited either and am not familiar with the courses, so really couldn't say. Visit both and see what you think, you might find your prefer one over the other and the choice becomes easy :yep:

I'd pick Kent. Kent's a much nicer place than Birmingham and I've only ever been to Birmingham.

I'd pick a lot of places before Birmingham.

What Potally said, I think you've still got plenty of time to evaluate your firm and insurance choice so visit both and judge the feel of each uni. Your instinct is actually a great indicator.

I think Aston has the better course, but Kent definitely has the nicer location. I visited both last year (but for a different course) and I liked how Aston had a compulsory placement year, but Kent is a nicer campus since it's not a city campus (Aston did have a claustrophobic feel to it being completely enveloped by the city). Kent did also feel a lot friendlier and a lot less formal, which I thought was a good thing.

However, with the Aston course you will study all of the modules within the first year business school before you specialise in the second year. This means you'll learn about things such as business law, accounting, finance, economics, IT for business etc. which you might not necessarily want to learn, but apparently "employers really like because it's so broad" (or so they say). Still, the business school at Aston is triple accredited.
Aston does have a very good reputation for business studies tbf...
Which course do you prefer?

Any supposed 'reputation' (a nebulous concept at the best of times) of any University will be meaningless if you don't actually enjoy what you are studying for the next 3 years ....

Basing your decision on reputation is not a great idea. How exactly you go about judging reputation is a difficult one too.

Go over the course structures, you may find that one covers your interests better than the other.

I also think it's important you visit the universities. It's quite likely that you'll find you prefer one over the other after doing this.
Take your time (don't send anything to UCAS until April at the earliest!).

Of the two Aston has more *experience* with offering placements - so when you visit both Kent and Aston I'd suggest you ask a lot of questions about how the placement gets organised, where you'll work, what pay you'll get, how much you'll have to do to sort out the placement or will they support you, what the process is like for when you come back in your fourth year (at Aston almost all your mates from 1st/2nd year will also be coming back - will that also be the case at Kent or will you be bundled back in with people from the year below you?), what the deal is for accommodation for the final year etc etc etc.
