Oxidising alcohols

For my chemistry assginment i wanted to know 2 methods of oxidizing butan-1-ol into butanal. can someone help out please

Moved to Chemistry for you :h:
What methods are you already aware of?
What did you mean with two methods? two different possibilities to oxidate butan-1-ol to butanal? or does it mean to name two oxidation products?

the chemical structure of butan-1-ol is C4H10O, in contrast to that butanal has the chemical structure C4H8O. Butanal is an aldehyde which was taken two hydrogen atoms.

As an alcohol, butan-1-ol can react to butanal, if it makes contact with the air:

C4H10O + 1/2 O2 -> C4H8O + H2O

You can also use an oxidation product to get butanal, copper oxide for instance:

C4H10O + CuO -> C4H8O + Cu + H2O
Only method I know is acidified potassium dichromate and distillation of the butanal.

(It will full oxidise to butanoic acid if you don't distill.)

The Swern Oxidation is an effective method to selectively produce aldehydes.
