Im studying a reaction:

ethyl ethanoate with water (acid catalysed) to produce ethanol and ethanoic acid. On my GC graph i have peaks consistently for ethyl ethanoate, ethanol and propanol (internal standard). My question is why doesn't water or ethanoic acid appear on the gc graph?

It's been sometime since I did this but isn't there other smaller peaks that add up to make up these compounds?
