If you're counting all your offers as rejections you might as well opt for UCAS extra when it opens. You should maybe aim slightly lower to more middle ranking universities such as Salford or hull which ask for 260 and 280 ucas points respectively.

I'm not applying outside of London

1. M1 is not the be all and end all of Physics, I dislike Mechanics but love the other areas. I want to specialise in another area of Physics...
2. I am staying in London for uni, and there are limited choices. 3 of my unis also have a minimum entry of ABB which I can achieve and it's quite close to BBB anyway.

Not sure if your last point has any evidence behind it...

There is a difference between not liking an area and not being able to do it.

Oh London, that place where there are loads of unis ranging from some of the top in the country to some of the worst. Yeah I can see how your choice on entry requirement range was so limited.

You should have picked an insurance which had a typical offer of the same as your AS grades at most. This was your mistake when picking unis. Go through extra or clearing or take a year out. If you get the grades you expect you you will get into a uni you want to eventually.

A lot of people say that, but I got 70/90 UMS for Physics G482 (mechanics) and an E for M1..

There's not a lot of correlation..

I don't know what UCAS Extra is, I will look into that

You are doing OCR Physics A Then? I do know what you mean because i am also doing both these modules in June(retaking Mechnics(physics) to try to turn my C grade into an A). From reading your other posts of the thread i too know what its like to be **** at mechanics and good at the interesting stuff ;p I got an A on the Physics unit 2 paper( electrons waves and photons).

You could apply to St Mary's Twickenham. They only need 2 A levels at grade b and I've heard its a great place to study.

I checked for Physics at London met, but they didn't have it, same with many other Unis in London. I did pick Unis with roughly the same as my AS grades, I checked all of their entry requirements and they were pretty good, my offers are dodgy though. My insurance is Queen Mary, didn't know they wanted such high grades

I can do Mechanics... I just did very badly in that exam...

LOL, yes that's exactly it, Mechanics just sucks...
At least you got an A on the more important paper, grats!
Ocr Physics A yeah that's right

Good luck with retaking, just remember to stamp SUVAT equations in your head, they pop in 'The Newtonian World' too ¬¬

I think they only do applied science

lol, I don't think he knows what retakes are, he studied maths at Oxford

Yeah sorry typo, G481*

In my defence, last year's M1 exam was **** v_v

Aah

Hmmmm fair enough, I think you could still get an a* if you just smash the exams this summer. Even if you don't, M1 won't really help tbh

And right there is the problem with many teachers, no empathy. It's a common misconception that the brightest people make the best teachers, not always so imho.

Cheers but i ****ed the practicals up so i have to retake them as well "_" The Newtonian world is more interesting than Mechanics so hopefully will be easier to revise ;p How are you finding unit 5?

Thanks, I'm gonna aim for that A*, I done last years C3 past paper and found it alright, I'm in a much better place this time around.

Now to only bunk school and find a hole to study in hmm...

It depends how much you have left to learn of your other modules, however, I think that it is still possible for you to learn M1.

I found M1 hard at first as well, but I forced myself to learn the content and do the questions, and I completed M1 in 3 weeks.

Question, did you go through the M1 book?
I won't have time to do that, so I need an alternative means of studying M1..

I find Newtonian world easier than G481, the only thing I can't stand is when they ask..

'Describe an experiment for the student to compare the radius of the metal ball and it's velocity'
1, 6 marker, so writes a whole page...
2, Gets 1/6 for written english.
pls.

Unit 5 is going alright, capacitance I find boring as **** and 3 things that make my ears ring: magnetic flux, magnetic flux density, flux linkage, please tell me who comes up with these names? ORIGINALITY PLEASE! but we're starting radioactivity soon <3 So yeah all good

If you're struggling with M1, what makes you think you can do physics at Uni?

Unless Physics is 3 years of Mechanics, I'm pretty sure I'll be ok.
Look, people have given you a lot of advice on this thread. Unis can make whatever offers they like- they could all offer you A*A*A* if they wanted, it's unfair, but that's life. The unis you have applied to so far obviously think your current maths achievement is too low to cope with the course- hence the high offers. Either you can try and achieve one of these offers, have a look in UCAS extra and see if anything there is suitable, or take a year out, do more retakes and reapply. Whilst very top universities aren't keen on this, Kings and QMUL will probably still consider you.

If you really want to go to university this year, then chances are you will have to stop limiting yourself and leave London.

However, it seems more like you just wanted to have a moan rather than be offered solutions- which is fine.

Not having a moan, I did get solutions, but I'm glad to have your authorisation to moan. I'm not going outside of London for university, as I've stated numerous times.
Unfair is an understatement, it's extremely unfair, they might as well have offered me A*A*A*, the trolls.

I think I will just take a gap year ^^
