I never liked the idea of a grammar, what with it being single sex and all

I took the 11+ anyway and missed out on a place by a couple of marks, does this make me stupid? (actually don't answer that )

I know I wouldn't be the person I am now without going to the school that I do.

I think we should just abolish all state schools really.

Argh! Why do you have to put such way out things in our threads?
me!

They should create a qualification in life experience (GCSE), I'm sure folk like us would easily get A*

That's rather a big stereotype...everyone changes though and at every age. Many people I know changed in Years 9/10, in fact, very few people changed in years 7/8?

Hmm, well I guess it's what you personally noticed.

To provoke someone?

The important thing is to be happy with who you are. HSS, would you rather have gone to the grammar and then turned freakishly geeky or summat?

And there are mixed grammars...Heckmondwike Grammar, for one.

Sometimes. :frown:

Although I owe all my good sense of humour to my comprehensive.

But it doesn't work!

Although maybe I shouldn't have replied.

No, low class, common state schools, dodgy teaching, townies etc. lead the way.

Come and join us Tek.

Reply, HSS, you know you want to.

In the end, everyone's happy. HSS, you have your friends you made at your comprehensive and you may absolutely adore them.

Our schools have helped us become who we are now today, and I think most of us are happy with who we are.

Yeah I guess. Nice conclusion :d

Well I hate school but I think it's just the getting up early part...

And so now your saying kids at comps can't be geeks? Shame on you

Heckmondwike haha I have no idea where that is but it amused my immature sense of humour, hehehe

Yeah! No DofE Award, no debate club and ooh, no fencing!

Woo to normal extra-curricular activities like er, swimming!
Haven't been swimming in ages (unless you count scuba diving). Can state schools really afford swimming pools?

Another plus point at comprehensives you become very skilled at throwing paper balls.

I'm much too cool for grammar school, yeah.

You may well get good results at grammar schools (but still nowhere as good as at public schools, especially with Oxbridge - the ultimate prize) but you have bugger all in terms of extra curricular activities. Education isn't just about 10 A*s Deianra.

My school has a swimming pool  Granted everyone refuses to swim in it, but still we get made to...
