Are really expensive film scanners the only way to go?
Recently I started getting my pictures processed into digital images, onto a CD or emailed to me, which is brilliant. But I still have a huge lump of pictures (most without negatives!) that id like to scan in.
Scanning from negative will get you the best results, as the scanning can penetrate the neg, where it has problems with the gloss on photos.
The best named scanners out there are hasselblad, but they are not cheap.
Some flatbeds can scan 4000dpi, when 1000 is ample for a 4x6 image.
Only downfall with scanning is it so time consuming.
Im sure a few setting tweak could help.
