Water bills... Why have mine doubled?

I've just had a water bill through from United Utilities and the monthly payment has almost doubled from £16.23 to £27.49 a month for a three person house.

There's no explanation of the cost increase, and we're not metered so it can't be that.

Has this happened to anyone else?

The monthly payment should never have been £16.23 for a 3 bed unmetered house. I doubt that even covered the sewerage charges letalone the RV.

it was probably an initial mistake.

This. That's pretty low imo.
I rang them up and asked. Turned out we had a credit against our account from when we moved, which I had forgotten all about :biggrin:
